Peep Show invites the male gaze in an erotic proposition that positions the unseen and poetic as art work. Traditionally Peep Show’s are specifically intended for the male gaze, McCaig plays with this by adding elements that retain eroticism, such as the latex and the participatory act of having to peer through to see what’s inside. Performance (As Persephone), 2023 is installed within the sculpture with each element activating the other.
